Mike has gained extensive Emergency Management experience throughout a long and varied career in the Fire Service. Within that 33-year career worked in emergency response, as a technical fire safety officer and latterly providing operational support to a larger divisional area, attending larger operational incidents, and commanding a variety of different responses including fires, flooding, road traffic collisions, chemical incidents, and rescues.
Mike attended both Operational and Fire Safety courses at the Fire Serive College Moreton-in Marsh Gloucestershire. Also, undertaking written examinations became a Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFE) and holds an HNC in Fire Safety studies from the University of Central Lancashire.
Retiring from the Fire Service in 2013 Mike formed his own company and worked as a Fire Risk Assessor, also, provided training in many different types of premises from retail, manufacturing, licensed and residential care.
In 2018 Mike joined a company as a senior specialist consultant delivering crisis simulations globally for large blue- chip companies and small medium enterprises. He also learnt more about business continuity planning and resilience.
In 2023 Mike met with a good friend and colleague of 35 years, …. improving emergency preparedness, emergency response and business recovery were discussed and how it might be approached differently…. Resilient and Ready was created shortly after by two colleagues with a real depth of knowledge and a passion for helping businesses improve in these areas in a cost-effective way.
