
Jason began his career with Kent Fire and Rescue Service in 1994 at the age of 27. Over a distinguished career spanning several decades, he responded to a wide range of operational incidents—from routine emergencies to complex, high-risk situations. These experiences provided him with a deep understanding of fire and rescue operations, along with extensive practical expertise in frontline emergency response.
Throughout his service, Jason was deployed to various locations across the county, each presenting unique operational challenges and community-specific risks. These diverse postings enhanced his versatility and adaptability as a firefighter. Notably, during his assignment to Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s specialist unit at the Channel Tunnel Emergency Centre, Jason developed extensive expertise in managing large-scale, high-impact incidents. His experience included major incident planning, multinational and multi-agency coordination, and response strategies for terrorism, hazardous materials, and mass casualty events—skills essential to national emergency preparedness and resilience.
In addition to his operational duties, Jason consistently demonstrated a proactive approach to professional development. Over the course of his career, he undertook and successfully completed a wide range of written and practical assessments.
